This is a Peter Rabbit plush by Gund. He is based of the old drawings of Beatrix Potter, but also made very cuddly and soft.

Peter Rabbit plush by Gund front

It’s a decent size plush at 24 cm sitting. He’s very cute looking with a slight pastel colour scheme. Peter wears his trademark blue vest, here light blue and made of plush fleece and very soft. It is stuck to his neck with a few stitches, but could easily be removed. It has a few yellow embroidered buttons and small pocket flaps. His belly, soles and inner ears are of a soft lighter material, while the rest of his fur has a much longer pile and is light brown, making him very fuzzy. Peter has black round button eyes and an embroidered nose.

Due to his sitting nature he balances upright quite well. Although a toon interpretation of Peter Rabbit, his proportions seem to be ok.

He has a large white fluffy tail. Due to the long haired material no ugly seam lines can be seen.

Peter Rabbit plush by Gund tush tag front

His tush tag is on his bottom, where his belly and fur meet. It has the Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit logo on it, as well as Gund’s logo.

The other side has the usual information of copyrights, legal and care instructions.

My family loves Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit. Thanks to my mum and aunts I too ended up liking Beatrix Potter’s work. Although I don’t care much for her stories, I absolutely adore her drawings.

Living in the UK now, I find loads of Beatrix Potter merchandise. When I found this plush in a charity shop it was an instant buy. Over the years I found others too.

And now that I’m downsizing I realise I like the others more, so this plush can go. I love Gund and their quality, and there is nothing wrong with this one, I just prefer the others’ style, whom more closely resemble Beatrix’ drawings. I also don’t have any others in this line.

So I’m gifting this one to my aunt. It’s nice to know he stays in the family and I know she’ll appreciate him. He’s also very cuddly and nice for young children, and my aunt often babysits. So he’ll be a good one to play with.

If you like good quality soft plush, and Beatrix Potter, you probably can’t go wrong with this one from Gund.
If you like Peter Rabbit’s modern design more you might want to pass on this one.

The photo’s are, as always, of the actual plush in hand and not stock photos.
