Series: Winnie the Pooh
Company: The Disney Store
Size: 30 cm high
Main distribution: Worldwide (at the Disney Store)
This is a Winnie the Pooh plush, sold exclusively at the Disney Store. This one has a curly hair texture.
This Pooh Bear plush is a decent size at 30 cm high and very soft due to its long, curly hair. Its eyes are two little black screw-buttons, and it has black, felt eyebrows with a brown felt mouth, with a little stitch detailing. The nose is black and stitched.
It’s in a sweet, sitting position, which makes it great for displaying. It has little beads in its butt and feet that help it remain sitting upright and give it a nice weight. The proportions are quite good, although I think Pooh has a bit more of a belly than this plush. He is not wearing his usual red shirt, so he looks more like a general teddy.
His limbs are floppy and can dangle of a shelf or edge should you so wish. This makes him also great for playing, as he can move his limbs freely.
As most Disney Store plush it comes with the signature Disney Store stamp on his foot. Its tush tag is fairly standard, with the usual Disney Store information, copyrights and wash instructions.
I always loved the stamped Disney Store plush. Their quality is amazing and they are as official as can be.
The Netherlands doesn’t have a Disney Store, so finding these (usually secondhand) was always such a magical experience. As a kid, I wanted to collect them all.
Now I’m living in the UK where most major cities have a Disney Store, some even two! The magic has slightly worn off I must say, but it’s still a treat to go the shop and look at all of the stamped plush.
Winnie the Pooh is a classic. My brother loved him as a child, so I saw many movies and tv series of it (on repeat!). This plush is amazing looking. I love how he looks like a bit of a general teddy bear as well. However, I’m not a big fan of the curly hair texture (just personal preference), and simply don’t see Pooh Bear like that. I wonder if he’s from the same series as my Tramp?
Finding these stamped plush less rare now, and needing the room / money, I have decided to sell them and only keep my favourite characters. As much as I love this plush, having to deal with a sudden move and lack of space, I’ve decided to sell this beauty.
There is nothing I can really fault on this plush, just personal preferences. I still wanted to catalogue him here for fellow collectors. The photo’s are, as always, of the actual plush in hand and not stock photos.
I no longer possess this plush.
Got any more details / information for me to add? Or did I get something wrong? Do you own the same plush? Do you agree or disagree with my findings? Let me know in the comments below!
