I got 1 of the E prizes; the Luigi Hat Chopstick Rest.

It comes in a little box and shows the rest of the E prizes on the side.

It is made from porcelain and has a decent weight to it. It’s about 6cm, making it a decent size too. It’s very smooth with a nice indent for the chopstick to rest on. It looks exactly as Luigi’s hat, very iconic. The branding is on the bottom and reads in black text: © Nintendo BSP. CHINA 64341.

F) Towels

There are so many Ichiban Kuji’s in Japan, it’s hard to keep up sometimes. Some of the prizes are very cool, others less so. I do like the household items ones, as I feel they are practical which I love, but also less desirable by the mainstream collectors. This means you often have a better chance of getting them for a good price, but they’re also harder to get as they rarely get exported. They are also often very typical Japanese, which is also the case here (Soy Sauce).

I find the E prizes the winner here. Ceramics like this are hard to find I find, as these IPs are often aimed at children and therefor these type of items are often made of plastic.

I have a small collection of chopstick rests, as they are nice and cheap to collect, and I use them for my paint brushes. So I couldn’t miss out on those. I managed to find Luigi’s hat, so bought it. I would like Mario too of course, but seeing it’s the same item in a different colour only, the need is less so.

The plates are cool too, especially as they make an image once you add the sauce. I love that. Having said that, we never have soy sauce at home (if I have sushi I eat out), so it wouldn’t get used. I feel the same about the C prize Blooper Soy Sauce bottle. A ceramic figure is cool, but again wouldn’t get used and doesn’t really fit my décor.

The rest of these prizes feel a bit basic or childish to me, so I wouldn’t personally seek them out. That said they are all very unique and exclusive, so if you’re a fan of Mario still something to look out for.

If you like practical merchandise or household items of Mario, these Ichiban Kuji prizes are nice.
If you more prefer figures etc, these are not for you.

Got any more details / information you think I should add? Or did I get something wrong? Do you own any of these prizes? Which one is your fav? Do you agree or disagree with my findings? Let me know in the comments below
