This is baby Simba from the Cuddleez collection, sold at the Disney Store.

Many characters have gotten the Cuddleez treatment. The Lion King has 2; Simba (baby) and Simba (young). I only have Simba (baby) though.

Cuddleez are characters in a sleeping position, often on their belly. They are soft and feel like mochi or squishmallows. They are also suitable from birth and ideal to snuggle up with in bed.

Simba (baby)

Simba (baby) Cuddleez by the Disney Store - front

Simba (baby) is sleeping like all Cuddleez. He has embroidered eyes, which are closed in a downward c shape. He has a happy 3 mouth embroidered and paw pads embroidered. He looks peaceful and happy. The spots on his forehead and tip of tail are painted.

Simba (baby) Cuddleez by the Disney Store - back

The spots on his forehead are iconic for baby Simba. He’s also in his iconic colours, and more movie like leaning towards the browns over the yellows. He lays on his back with limbs spread out. His proportions are nothing like baby Simba though; being chubby, with little short stubby limbs and a large head, making him look chibi. He looks like a modern, graphic interpretation of baby Simba instead.

Simba (baby) Cuddleez by the Disney Store - tush tag

He has a standard Disney Store tush tag on his bottom left side. A hang tag would have been in his left front paw.

I recall seeing these in the Disney Store on one of my last visits right before they shut down. They were quite popular at the time, and expensive! And felt so soft squishing them in the bin in the shop.

Despite being Simba, I didn’t care much for him. He looked… off.

But a couple months later I find this one in the charity shop. He looked like new! I bought him as he was cheap, and it’s Simba.

But I quickly disliked him when I got home. He feels like those mochi plush and squishmallows, and I hate that feeling. I also don’t think he looks that great or accurate at all, which is another pet peeve of mine.

Disney made lots of Cuddleez since, and even made another Simba. A cub version, which looks much better in my opinion. Still, I probably won’t like him for the same texture reasons.

So this baby is up for sale.

If you like Disney, sleeping plush, or those soft mochi plush, you’ll like these.
If you prefer more accurate plush, or dislike that mochi texture, you’ll give these a miss.

Got any more details / information you think I should add? Or did I get something wrong? Do you own the same plush? Do you agree or disagree with my findings? Let me know in the comments below!
