These are a Gashapon series called “narabundesu” or “lined up” by Bandai. Several IPs have gotten this treatment, existing out of characters walking in a line. Here are the miffy ones.
The figures can be obtained through a Gashapon machine.
Inside the ball you’ll find the figure and their stand separately, in plastic.

The first set exists out of boris bear (boris beer), dan (daantje), miffy (blue) (nijntje), miffy (yellow) (nijntje) and snuffie.

The second set exists out of miffy’s mom (moeder pluis), miffy’s dad (vader pluis), miffy on a snowy day (nijntje), miffy (striped) (nijntje) and miffy (nijntje).

miffy’s mom is walking to the right in her blue dress and holding her basket or shopping bag. It’s just like the illustration / animation of when she goes to the market in “miffy” / “nijntje”, the first book where miffy gets born. On the back of her dress is the branding, it reads in raised font: © Mercis bv B. CHINA 2609964 and has the 4 dots of Bandai.

miffy’s dad is walking to the right in his blue suit. It’s just like the illustration / animation of when he takes miffy to the zoo in “miffy at the zoo” / “nijntje in de dierentuin”. On the back of his jacket is the branding, it reads in raised font: © Mercis bv B. CHINA 2609964 and has the 4 dots of Bandai.
I love 3D renditions of 2D images. It’s like you can hold the art. And I love Gashapon, something about relatively cheap, small, detailed things. So when I saw these miffy ones I of course loved them.
However they are hard to get here. But when I saw an independent business that imports Japanese goods, going to Japan for some personal shopping, I jumped in on getting a few of these.
I really wanted to get the parents and a miffy, and it was cheaper to buy in pairs, so I bought 4 tries. Lucky, I got the parents. Unlucky I got the mom x3. So I’m selling / trading my duplicate moms.
The figures are amazing looking. They are quite flat, which makes them more like the classic illustrations than their newer, rounder, 3D counterparts. The stands are needed though as their flatness makes them hard to stand upright. That said they look so much like their illustrations. I recognised them immediately.
I’d love to get a boris, miffy, snuffie and dan as well some day. Maybe when I see them again I’ll give it another try.
If you like miffy, small things and/or Gashapans, you’ll like these. Mind they can be hard to find.
If you prefer more toy like, articulated or bigger figures you’re better off giving these a miss.
