This is a gashapon set of miniature realistic animals that live at Satayoma, which is a Japanese term applied to the border zone or area between mountain foothills and arable flat land. Made by Ikimon, it’s part of their Nature Techni Colour line, specifically their Micro subline.

The figures come in clear white transparent capsules, so you can see which one you got without opening it. For some reason one came in a pink one.

Each figure is individually wrapped in plastic, and comes with a disc of its habitat and a full colour leaflet.

There are 10 animal figures to collect.

We got 3/10.

Japanese Weasel / Mustela Itatsi

Creatures of Satayoma by Ikimon - Japanese Weasel

Japanese Weasel is potentially the smallest creature to get. It’s on all fours, with a straight back and tail and looking slightly to the left. It has an orange brown coat, with a white face and neck and black patches around the eyes. On the bottom its little feet are visible. The disc depicts grasslands.

Japanese Hare (winter coat) / Lepus brachyurus

Creatures of Satayoma by Ikimon - Japanese Hare (winter coat)

Japanese Hare (winter coat) is another one of the smaller creatures to get. It’s sitting upright, with a pensive look and upright ears, looking slightly to the left. It has its winter coat, so it’s white, with a few darker tips on the ears and paws. On the bottom its little feet are visible. The disc depicts a winter forest.

Asian Black Bear / Ursus Thibetanus

Creatures of Satayoma by Ikimon - Asian Black Bear

Asian Black Bear is one of the bigger creatures to get. It’s standing on all four and looks slightly to the left. It’s black, with a white crescent on its chest. On the bottom its paws are visible. The disc depicts a forest.

I love miniature things and animals so when I saw these micro figures in Sydney I thought they were adorable. They were also one of the cheapest machines there.

As we live in a very similar area (mountains / forest / agriculture) I love these animals, although we don’t have the Asian counterparts of course (nor bears thankfully!)

Considering how tiny they are, they look incredibly well and realistic. My only negative is they are not in scale with one another. The leaflet has lots of information of the animals as well, and I feel like it’s a missed opportunity to not include this on the disc (like their size for example).

I wanted the Asian Black Bear, Japanese Weasel and the Copper Pheasant, so having 2 of them is great. In further attempts to get the Copper Pheasant, I ended up with the Japanese Hare (winter coat) and more Asian Black Bears.

If anyone would like to trade, or buy an Asian Black Bear, let me know.

If you like tiny figures, animals or miniature photography, this series is nice.
If you prefer bigger figures you might give this a miss.
