These are bath bombs shaped like a Tamagotchi and contain 1 Tamagotchi figure. The bath balls are from Kamio Japan, while Tamagotchi is owned by Bandai.

The bath bomb with figure comes in a blind bag, so you can’t tell which one you get prior. When opening the blind bag you’ll find the bath bomb tightly wrapped in clear plastic. It’s in the shape of a classic tamagotchi shell, and is lilac of colour. It is quite powdery.

Although you can dissolve them in a bowl of hot water to get the toy out, I don’t like wastage so I ran myself some baths over the weeks and threw a bomb in each time.

It fizzes slightly, and does not create any bubbles like normal bubble bath stuff would. It doesn’t really colour the water and has a light floral scent. It also floats. Slowly the figure is revealed. It doesn’t take that long for the entire bath bomb to dissolve, about two and a half minutes. Once dissolved you barely notice a difference in the water, although a powdery layer can be found afterwards.

The figures are hard plastic and not rubbery like most bath bomb figures. They feel a bit coarse however, as if the powdery bath bomb has micro sanded them.

Tamagotchi Bath Ball by Kamio Japan - Packaging

The set exists out of 5 figures to collect; Mametchi まめっち, Kuchipatchi くちぱっち, Mimitchi みみっち, Ginjirotchi ぎんじろっち and Pochitchi ポチっち.

The packaging shows a classic blue Tamagotchi with clock pattern with the egg sprite on it, and the 5 characters as artwork around it.

I got 4/5.

I’ve grown found of these Japanese bath bombs with figures inside. So when I saw the Tamagotchi ones I of course had to have them.

However, I’m a bit disappointed with these. The bath bombs are incredibly powdery that sticks to your fingers. They also float and twirl in the water instead of sinking, which isn’t bad, but they hardly if at all colour the water, nor fizz much. The bath isn’t that moisturising nor smells strong. And I feel like there’s a powdery coating on everything once you’re done.

The figures are incredibly cute though, and it’s hard to find Tamagotchi merchandise of the characters here. I do like them. However, they feel weird. I wonder if the powder has sanded them slightly, you can see micro indents in them (most obvious in the light reflections on the photos).

I don’t regret buying them, I love the Tamagotchi characters. And if another set would come out I would buy them too. I just wish they were better quality. Bandai owns Tamagotchi, so perhaps they’ll make one under their Bikkura Tamago or Surprise Egg line in the future.

I had hoped to gain the full set, and considering I only bought 5, getting 4 out of 5 ain’t bad. I got Pochitchi double, if anyone wants to trade it for Ginjirotchi.

If you like Tamagotchi, I recommend getting these as it’s hard to find character figures merchandise of them.
If you like bath bombs for the bath itself, these are not that great. They are powdery, don’t colour the water nor add much to the bath.
