The Corocoroid series of capsule toys features products where the capsule is part of the product. In this case with Kirby, it’s the main body.
The Corocoroid line is from the same company that makes Nendoroids; Good Smile Company. The Kirby Corocoroid is the exact same size as a Kirby Nendoroid.
The Kirby line comes in 2 series with each having 4 different variants, resulting in 8 different figures to collect.

Corocoroid Kirby

The first series exist out of 4 different Kirby, each with a different expression on his face and holding a different item. Kirby & Genki Drink, Kirby & Maxim Tomato, Kirby & Star Rod and Kirby & Onigiri.
I got 1/4.
In my case I didn’t get it out of a capsule machine, but out of a blind box. The box features all the different Kirby’s you can get. As well as the general concept of the body being the capsule.
Once opened you’ll find Kirby in plastic, although I imagine it would just be the ball in a Gacha machine.
Inside the ball are all the bits to make up Kirby fully, as well as a stand.
Kirby & Onigiri
Kirby & Onigiri is a happy Kirby, with closed ^^ eyes and a happy open D mouth. His hands are upwards, holding Onigiri in his right hand. His feet are outwards, and he’s sitting (or mid-air).
The figure is the exact same size as the Kirby Nendoroid from Good Smile Company, so you could pose these together.

The second series exist out of 4 different Kirby, each with a different style of face and holding a different Kirby game. Kirby’s Dreamland (GB), Kirby’s Adventure (Famicom), Kirby Super Star (Super Famicom) and Kirby Star Allies (Nintendo Switch).
I got 4/4.

Kirby’s Dreamland (GB)
Kirby is holding up the box of the Gameboy game Kirby’s Dreamland in his right hand and his face is in the style of the Kirby of that game, black with angular lines. His left foot is pointing upwards, while his right is downwards, in a walking or jumping pose.
Kirby’s Adventure (Famicom)
Kirby is holding up the box of the Famicom game Kirby’s Adventure and his face is in the style of the Kirby of that game, using blue outlines. His feet are pointing upwards, in a sitting pose, as on the box.
Kirby Super Star (Super Famicom)
Kirby is holding the box of the Super Famicom game Kirby Super Star and his face is in the style of the Kirby of that game, using brown. His feet are flat on the floor, in a neutral standing pose, as on the box.
Kirby Star Allies (Nintendo Switch)
Kirby is holding the box of the Nintendo Switch game Kirby Star Allies and his face is in the style of the Kirby of that game, with little stars in his eyes. His feet are pointing forward and backward, in a jumping pose.
The figures are the exact same size as the Kirby Nendoroid from Good Smile Company, so you could pose these together.
I got one of these from Series 1 from my boyfriend for Christmas 2018. I saw the boxes and was curious what they were, and casually asked for one. You can never go wrong with Kirby!
I found him hard to open and put together if I’m honest. He’s made from hard plastic with tiny pins, and I was scared I would break it. Once made though, he looks pretty cool. You can’t really pose him but he makes a nice figure regardless. I also think it’s cool he’s the same size as a Kirby Nendoroid. I find all four pretty nice, but I’m happy I got the Onigiri one.
That said though I wasn’t that impressed. A plastic ball with parts, that was hard to put together and couldn’t be posed? I rather got a normal figure. Due to the plastic and hollowness it felt cheap. Still cute though.
When I saw the second series however, with the different Kirby and them holding their respective game, I was smitten! I love merchandise that directly ties in with the video game. Plus having them together shows a nice evolution of Kirby.
Yes, they still feel cheap. And I was disappointed to find the game boxes being pink pieces you have to sticker. But I really like the concept of these. Maybe because I knew what I was getting this time also helped.
I got a random one at first which happened to be Kirby Star Allies. The one I wanted the least as I prefer old Kirby. The other 2 I got from a shop that labels which ones are inside. Sadly they no longer had Kirby’s Dreamland. So I bought that one lastly online.
If you like Kirby and can’t afford a Kirby Nendoroid and don’t mind non-posable, these are a great, cheaper alternative. If you have a Kirby Nendoroid these are the exact same size and make for great friends to pose along with.
If you prefer higher quality and poseable figures, you want to give these a miss.
