This is an officially licensed by Studio Ghibli set of utensils.
There’s a few designs of these of My Neighbor Totoro. There’s a pink set with Totoro and Mei, a green set with a vegetable patch and a green set with daisies.
I got the daisies one.
The set consists out of a sturdy carry case, a fork, spoon and chopsticks.
The case slides open easily. The front is transparent and has 3 blue Mid Totoros and 3 white Mini Totoros on it, with 3 Susuwatari too. The rest is covered in daisies. The tray is light green, with a handle at the top and a section for each utensil.
The fork and spoon have a thick yellow handle, and picture daisies and a blue Mid Totoro, white Mini Totoro and a Susuwatari. The chopsticks are light green with daisies.
All pieces have “My Neighbor Totoro” written on it.
The set also comes with stickers to write your name on it, and the chopsticks also have a name tag.
The back of the case has the branding. It reads in raised font the Skater logo, japanese in a square and Product by the Skater Co.,Ltd. MADE IN JAPAN.
Apart from collectables, I also have house wares of my favourite franchises. I think it’s important to surround yourself with things you like and things you work with. This also applies to the every day life!
I found this Ghibli Totoro utensil set in a Japanese shop in Sydney, Australia. I love the Totoro imagery and flowers, and was lowkey looking for a travel utensil set. It’s also green, which my house / kitchen is, so it was perfect.
I bought it and brought it back home. Although I think it’s a kid’s set, it’s perfect for outdoor lunches. I prefer tiny forks and spoons anyway. I love practical merchandise and they are cool conversation starters.
If you like practical merchandise, or Studio Ghibli / Totoro, you’ll like this.
If you’re more into figures or collectables, you’ll give this a miss.
