This is a gashapon set of animals distraught, having missed their opportunity.
The figures can be obtained through a Gashapon machine. They come in transparent coloured balls, so you can see which one you have prior to opening it.
The animals are wrapped in plastic and come with a full colour leaflet.
There are 5 animals to collect. I got 1/5.
Red Panda
Red Panda looks depressed, hanging his head in shame and sulking in a corner, with its right front paw leaning against a wall. It has a sad expression on its face. The colouring looks realistic, how a red panda looks in the wild. The branding is underneath its tail, and reads in raised font © BANDAI B. the 4 dots of Bandai 2598255.
I had heard of a shop in the Netherlands that had a lot of Gashapon machines, and when I had an opportunity to visit, I found lots of weird and unique ones I hadn’t seen elsewhere, including these.
Humanoid realistic animals are funny to me, and they all looked great, so I tried for one. I got the Red Panda, my second favourite after the Bear. It looks adorable, although I’m not sure where I’d use it.
If you like funny animals, you’ll like these gashapon.
If you prefer something more serious, you’ll give these a miss.
