Pikachu
Release date: December 2024
Barcode: 72-10060-101(UK), 4521329422121 (JPN)
RRP: £27.99

The plush is about 25cm tall. Pikachu has a soft, short pile fur texture, with embroidered face details. He wears a light blue Staryu Christmas sweater, a santa hat and a fluffy white scarf. His colouring is also slightly muted, with brown eyes and ear tips and a softer orange yellow.

Pikachu has the male variant tale. He is sitting upright, with his front paws clutching his scarf. His clothing is oversized on him.

The hat has embroidered star shaped Pokémon on it; Staryu, Minior and Cleffa.

The scarf has a Wooloo emblem stitched unto it.

It has quite long and several tush tags left of his tail, which have the standard Pokémon Center info on it with the Pokéball logo, Pokémon Center, year (©2024) and the usual copyrights. Attached on a tiny loop underneath these is the hang tag, which is quite large. In Japan it has the beautiful artwork of the Pokémon Heartwarming Christmas line on it. In the UK it has the basic Pokéball design on the front, and the usual Pokémon Center info on the back, as well as the line of plush, the name of the plush and barcode.
I have both a Japanese and UK version.

I couldn’t find many differences between them, but the UK version looks slightly bigger. I think he’s structured slightly differently, he seems to have bigger paws for example.
I wanted a second to see what he would look like without the clothing. So I carefully stripped the UK version.

The clothing and paws were stuck with simple stitches that can easily be undone while preserving the clothes and plush, so you can dress him up again too.

When I saw this Pikachu I instantly needed to have him. He looked so adorable and cute! And he looked quite chubby too, like retro Pikachu.
I had hoped he looked like an old Pikachu when you took the clothes off, so I wanted a second to strip. However, I was only able to get one from the Pokémon Center in the UK before they sold out. So I bought a Japanese one on eBay, for a fairly decent price considering the overseas shipping. I saw they re-released them on the UK Pokémon Center for Christmas 2025… ah well.
It’s fun to compare the two. They’re both high quality, but seeing the UK version slightly bigger and structured differently, you wouldn’t notice until you held them next to each other.
Naked he didn’t look as cute anymore however. I think the floppy ears make him look more like a rabbit than Pikachu, and I think it was the oversized clothing and the little paws clutching the scarf that made him look adorable and cozy.
However I can put the clothes back on him, and alter the position of them slightly, to create a variant so to speak. He sits with the Christmas decorations, and I’ll let the kids play with him, while the Japanese one sits on my desk, looking cute.
